A 12-year-old fisherman from Cawsand is proving that age is no obstacle when it comes to business by launching his own venture selling his fresh catch. Antony Newcombe will be selling the best quality locally caught sustainable lobster, brown crab and fish, all landed from his own registered punt.
This weekend Antony will have his own little boat launched and blessed on Cawsand Beach. Antony hopes he'll be able to supply local pubs and restaurants with his catch in 2024 with the proceeds going towards buying a bigger boat.
His dad Tim explained that Antony bought the winch on his boat and learned to do pots, but was unable to sell his catch and his grandfather could only eat so much crab. However, Antony is now registered meaning that his business can take the next step of supplying pubs and restaurants.
