THERE are hopes that a permanent convenience store will at last open in Plymouth's £1bn Sherford new town. It is understood that talks are underway with a potential operator and that a shop could be open by the end of September.
No official announcement has been made, but The Herald understands an operator intends to run Sherford Convenience Store and is close to completing a deal. It is expected that jobs will be created and the shop will be trading before the end of next month.
A temporary store has opened at the new town in the meantime and talks are also underway to create a "local centre", with shops and other facilities.
