Mum's heartbreak at son's illness

A PLYMOUTH mum has vowed to do everthing possible for her son after finding out he has a rare incurable illness which means he will gradually lose his ability to walk, talk, hear, eat or do anything.

Mum to seven children, Kerrie Robson, aged 48, said she knew 'something wasn't quite right' when her youngest son was born.

Kerrie and her partner, Tony Sutton, aged 50, noticed that little Dude 'wobbled' and 'bumped into things' when he first started to walk.

The couple saw their doctor and were referred to Derriford Hospital for an MRI scan. The results from the scan showed their little boy didn't have enough myelin - the substance that insulates the nerves in the brain.
