SOME Plymouth schools may not open on Tuesday when teachers go on strike and the “majority” are expected to keep some year groups at home, union members say. Plymouth representatives of the National Education Union (NEU) predicted widespread disruption with, once again, every school in the city affected.
The NEU has scheduled another day of industrial action for May 2 and said it is highly likely Plymouth secondary schools in particular will not open, or partially close with some year groups being told not to attend. About 100 city primaries and secondaries will be affected by the strike and the union is intending to have picket lines outside schools that are open.
