NOT ACCEPTABLE'

JOE Edwards admitted Plymouth Argyle's performance in the 5-0 thrashing by Cardiff City was 'not acceptable' as the captain apologised to the 3,200-strong travelling Green Army who witnessed it after making the trip to South Wales.

NOT ACCEPTABLE'

As was the case in the seasonopening 4-0 defeat at Sheffield Wednesday in August, the Pilgrims did not come close to matching the intensity of their opponents in the Saturday lunchtime Championship clash and paid a heavy penalty.

Argyle were already trailing 2-0 to bottom-of-the-table Cardiff when Ibrahim Cissoko was shown a straight red card in the 41st minute for shoving over Perry Ng after the City right-back kicked the ball at the winger while he was on the ground following a trip on him by Ollie Tanner.

Cardiff went on to totally dominate the second half and Argyle could have been beaten by an even bigger margin than 5-0. Edwards has called on his team-mates for a reaction when they play away to Millwall on Wednesday night.
