In fact, you know you’ve massively connected with a show inspired by a novel when all you can think about on the car journey home is immediately downloading the book.
That was the case after seeing the National Theatre’s epic retelling of Neil Gaiman’s ‘Ocean At The End of The Lane’, and it is most definitely the case tonight for ‘The House With Chicken Legs’.
Interestingly, there are some parallels between ‘Ocean At The End of The Lane’ and ‘The House with Chicken Legs’; they both blend magic, fantasy and storytelling with real life.
Fans of fantasy and folklore will definitely enjoy this sensational new musical.
Older audiences will be captivated too. I took my mum and although the play is particularly relatable for young people, we laughed, cried and boogied our way through the night; a great bonding experience which made for a very fun evening.
At the start of the show, it seems like this original musical/drama is about dead people that also like to dance and party! Didn’t know the dead can pull off riotous parties? Well, neither did we but it appears that anything goes in a Yagga’s mixed up world.
