Paperchase store prepares to shut

PLYMOUTH’S Paperchase store has started a closing down sale and is likely to be shut before the end of the month. 

The stationery retailer moved into a new location in Drake Circus shopping centre last month, but new owner Tesco only wants the brand and not the stores. 

It means Plymouth’s outlet is among 106 stores facing closure. The Drake Circus branch has begun a closing down sale, with 20% off some items.

The store was busy at the weekend as shoppers scrambled to pick up bargains. It is not known when the store will close but it is understood it could remain open until near the end of February as the company aims to sell off as much product as possible.
