Perks hopes big crowd can be the difference in Devon Derby

It is an important game for Argyle, who are 11th out of the 12 teams in the FA Women’s National League Premier South Division with just one win out of six matches this season. They are coming off a disappointing 2-0 defeat away to Lewes in east Sussex on Sunday.

Exeter are fifth with three victories and 10 points from their six fixtures so far. They were leading Billericay Town 3-0 at St James Park on Sunday when the game was abandoned at half-time due to torrential rain flooding the pitch.

Perks said about Exeter: “I haven’t seen much of them, if I’m being honest. We have got a platform with the league which you get to watch the games back so we have done our homework on them. We haven’t seen them live, which isn’t ideal. You would like to go and get a feel for how they are playing.

“They haven’t changed their squad much from last season. They have added a couple of players so I wouldn’t expect them to change too much from how they played.

“They work hard for each other. They have got a few of our old players so we know what to expect from players like Zoe (Cunningham). Sophie (Gillies) up front scores goals for fun, she has got pace. They have got some quality all over the pitch but also they have got areas we can exploit.
