PLYMOUTH Argyle will be rested and well prepared for their Championship clash with Sunderland at the far-away Stadium of Light on Saturday despite their gruelling FA Cup replay against Leeds United on Tuesday night, head coach Ian Foster has declared.
The fourth round replay at a raindrenched Home Park went to extratime and a lot was asked of a depleted Pilgrims' squad as they fought valiantly before eventually losing 4-1 to very strong opposition.
Foster said: "It takes a lot out of you mentally and physically a game like that. Obviously the pitch was heavy towards the end with the weather.
The boys were covering 13, 14 kilometres and 800-900 metres at high speed so it's really demanding but we knew that regardless of it going into extra-time or not it would be physically challenging for us.
