A MAN found guilty of raping a vulnerable teenage girl in a dark alley in Plymouth has been handed an eight-and-a-half-year jail sentence and will be deported after his release from prison.
Mohammed Abdullah, aged 34 and of no fixed address – but who had been staying with his sister in King Street – denied he raped the teen twice at the rear of the House of Fraser building in Plymouth city centre on October 22, 2022.
A jury of eight women and four men at Plymouth Crown Court, having heard the evidence against him, instead found him guilty after eight hours of deliberation. Dishonestly denying the offences, he forced his victim to give evidence and relive her ordeal in court.
