Show organisers hoping for another stellar turnout

ORGANISERS of Yealmpton Show are hoping for another stellar turnout when the much-loved one-day event returns later this month, with the deadline for entries fast approaching.

Always the last Wednesday in July, the 134th renewal will be held once again at Kitley Lawns just outside Yealmpton on Wednesday, July 26, by kind permission of the Bastard family.

Last year’s show was the busiest ever, mostly due to a pandemic-enforced hiatus in 2020 and 2021, with large crowds resulting in major traffic delays.

Organisers say that they have addressed the issues experienced in 2022. “We’ve allowed extra lanes for parking traffic once you’re on the show field. Last year was our busiest show ever and it caught us out,” a spokesperson for the event said. “Just like other big agricultural shows and large events held around Devon, the same thing happens – traffic queues.
