FORMER Plymouth Argyle defender Hasney Aljofree believes Darko Gyabi could be something special for the Pilgrims after witnessing his outstanding performance in the 2-0 Championship away win against Middlesbrough.
Aljofree was a co-commentator on the match at the Riverside Stadium for BBC Radio Devon and was very impressed by the 20-year-old loan signing from Leeds United playing in a new more advanced position.
Previously, Gyabi had been used by head coach lan Foster in a deeper midfield position, but Aljofree was struck by the creativity that he showed against Middlesbrough. Argyle's first goal came after a good run and shot from Gyabi, with the ball parried out by
Boro keeper Tom Glover for Matty Sorinola to slot home, and Ryan Hardie then made it 2-0 in the 31st minute after he was picked out by an excellent pass from the Leeds loanee.
Aljofree said: "I really enjoyed watching him play higher up. I said on commentary he was getting my man-of-the-match but he came off a little bit early and I thought Adam Randell, in a different way, was brilliant as well.
"Going back to Gyabi, he really impressed me because he's athletic and he has got the physical presence but he has also got technical quality.
