Store celebrates as it wins reprieve to stay

A PLYMOUTH furniture store is launching a new department stuffed with bargains after being told it doesn't have to move out of its city centre home for another year.

City Furnishers Store (CFS) will unveil its Clearance Zone at 9am today, with up to 70% off beds, sofas and other furniture, plus special deals on five items, and free Champagne for the first 20 customers.

Sarah Rosson, owner of the Colin Campbell Court business, said: "I like to give people a bargain and good value for money. We have some cracking deals. I'm really pleased, we have sourced, acquired and are offering national brands.

Everyone should be able to afford a bit of luxury, high-end and glam." The team at CFS has expanded the amount of top-quality furniture the store is selling at a discount because they have been used for displays or are cancelled orders, for example.

The first floor of the Art Deco Colin Campbell House has been turned into the new Clearance Zone but bosses said this has only been possible because landlord Plymouth City Council is not moving them out.
