THERE are some major changes coming into effect in 2024 which will alter travel plans for Brits.
If you're already planning a holiday away to somewhere hot and sunny to help beat the winter blues, there are some things that you should know about before packing your suitcase.
100ml liquid rules
Passengers flying from the UK will soon be able to take up to two litres of liquid onboard planes in their hand luggage. Back in December 2022, the government announced that all airport security scanners would be upgraded by June 2024.
Some airports in London have already introduced the technology, making the security checks quicker for passengers. Currently the move would apply for all UK airports, but the journey back might not have the same allowances.
Children and e-gates
Since July this year children as young as 10 are able to use e-Gates, making the journey through the airport quicker for families. That age is down from 12.
