Waine gets a recall as Wagner fumes after humbling defeat

First, the All Whites will play the Democratic Republic of Congo at the Estadio Nueva Condomina, Murcia in Spain on Friday, October 13. They will travel to the UK to take on Australia for the 'Soccer Ashes' at Brentford's Gtech Community Stadium on Tuesday, October 17.

Head coach Darren Bazeley's squad sees 19-year-old Fulham midfielder Matthew Dibley-Dias and Reading defender Tyler Bindon, 18, named for the first time. Waine will not miss any action for Argyle because the two matches are during the second international break of the season. New Zealand did not have any fixtures in the previous one earlier this month.

The 22-year-old former Wellington Phoenix striker made his first Championship start for the Pilgrims in the 4-1 defeat by Bristol City at Ashton Gate last Tuesday. Overall this season he has made a total of three starts and five substitute appearances and scored three goals, all of them in the Carabao Cup.

Waine has made eight appearances at senior international level for New Zealand, who have also announced two international fixtures for November.

The All Whites will play Greece at the OPAP Arena in Athens on Friday, November 17 and then take on the Republic of Ireland at the Aviva Stadium in Dublin four days later.
