STRIKER Ben Waine is starting to reap the rewards of all the hard work he is putting in at Plymouth Argyle, Steven Schumacher has declared.
The 22-year-old has played as a substitute in three Championship matches this season, but it is in the Carabao Cup where he has made his mark.
Waine netted both goals when the Pilgrims beat Leyton Orient 2-0 in round one, and then opened the scoring against Crystal Palace on Tuesday night.
Argyle eventually lost 4-2 to the Premier League visitors after conceding three goals in five minutes during the second half but it was still an encouraging performance from them.
It was just Waine's fourth start for the Pilgrims since signing for an undisclosed six-figure fee from Wellington Phoenix at the start of this year.
The New Zealand international has also made 12 substitute appearances and is now up to five goals for Argyle, which is a good return given the limited amount of game time he has had.
