Witnesses tell murder trial what they saw

WITNESSES have told a court they saw a man punched and kicked to the ground by two men accused of his murder after he shouted "is that all you've got?" at them.

Cowin Fuoco-Fisher, aged 25 and James Caswell, aged 28, both face trial for the murder of Stefan Shotton following an incident which took place in the early hours of May 28 last year, outside the Co-operative store in Devonport Road, Stoke.

Mr Shotton was later taken to Derriford Hospital suffering serious head injuries, including a bleed on the brain. Despite surgery he never regained consciousness and died on June 6.

On the first day of the trial prosecutor Simon Jones told the jury at Plymouth Crown Court how Fuoco-Fisher of Stuart Road, Plymouth and Caswell, of Tailyour Road, Plymouth, had intended to cause Mr Shotton serious harm when they attacked him, punching and kicking him to the head in a joint attack.

A series of witnesses who attended a number of pubs in Stoke on the evening of May 27 into the early hours of the following day gave evidence at Plymouth Crown Court on Thursday.

The first was Adele Perrin, partner of Jordan Matejka, who said said she saw "a lady there shouting at these group of lads" in Devonport Road - alleged to have been Mr Shotton's partner, Adrianna White.
