Army's indigenous push to support jawans on LAC
The Morning Standard|October 03, 2024
THE Army has sought indigenous solutions to ease the vagaries of high altitude in terms of habitat and logistics for its soldiers stationed along the Line of Actual Control.

Delhi-based startup DTech 360 Innovations was called in to Leh to showcase its advanced high-altitude habitat solution, which can maintain the inside temperature without using a heater, kerosene oil or generator.

Speaking to this newspaper during the recently held HimTech Symposium 2024 at Leh, organised by the Fire & Fury Corps, DTech 360 Innovations' MD Vinay Mittal claimed that the "Peak Pods" can withstand a wind speed of 190 kmph.

"Our product is a very lightweight and 100 per cent relocatable and modular structure which can be erected and dismantled in a maximum 6-8 hours. It also prevents snow accumulation." Talking about the technology, Mittal said, "Peak Pods" is a revolutionary indigenous product, which has been developed after a four-year of research and development and it is suitable for the troops posted in the forward areas in inclement weather conditions." He said that there is no technology that can maintain the shelter's temperature at 10-15°C when the outside temperature is 40°C, and that too without using any heater, kerosene oil or generator.
