TO most of us it will sound utterly strange, but for the farmers in many villages of central Madhya Pradesh's Narmadapuram district, it's allegedly bearing fruits, despite having no scientific basis.

Summer moong (pulses) farmers are using both desi (country-made) and Indian made foreign liquor (IMFL) as pesticide spray on their moong (pulses) cultivation presently.

Many villages in Pipariya and Sohagpur development blocks of Narmadapuram district are seeing farmers (particularly small and marginal farmers) use alcohol and water mixed spray as alternative to the costly chemical pesticide in their fields, on summer moong and turmeric cultivation.
