Airtel gains customers for first time since tariff hike in Oct; Jio, Vi lose users

FOR the first time since the tariff hike announced by private telecom service providers in July 2024, Bharti Airtel added 1.9 million subscribers in October 2024.

State-owned Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) also gained 0.5 million customers during the same period.

However, Reliance Jio, country's largest telco, lost 3.76 million users, while Vodafone Idea's (Vi) customer base fell by nearly 1.97 million.
