DAYS after Congress delegation claimed that no official record designates the KRS road as Princess Road in Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) documents and suggested to go ahead to rename it as Siddaramaiah Arogya Marga, Mysuru-Kodagu MP Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar has presented evidence to the contrary. Yaduveer, the scion of the Mysuru royal family, took to social media to share historical documents supporting the road's original name.
In a post on his social media handle, Yaduveer highlighted a letter from a relative of Mirza Ismail, the Diwan of Mysore, which referenced Princess Road in its address. Further evidence includes an official Mysore Tour Map and Guide published by the Government of India's Survey and Mapping Department, which explicitly marks the road as Princess Road.
In his statement, Yaduveer emphasised the road's cultural and historical significance, urging authorities to preserve its legacy rather than rename it for political purposes. He underscored the responsibility of the MCC and the government to honour the city's heritage and ensure it is passed down to future generations.
