A KSRTC pilgrimage tour to Thanjavur turned tragic on the way back as four persons died after the bus veered off the highway and plunged 45 feet into a gorge near Pullupara in Idukki district on Monday morning.
The deceased are Mavelikkara residents Rama Mohan (55), Arun Hari (40), Bindhu (50) and Sangeeth (45).
Of a total of 37 people on board the bus—including the driver, co-driver and the tour operator—31 suffered injuries, with the condition of four passengers reported to be critical.
