FOLLOWING UP on the regional leadership's move exposing factionalism within the CPM, a group of activists ousted from its youth wing, DYFI, organised a parallel area conference at Kozhinjampara in Palakkad district on Sunday. The meeting, held at the Ruby Hall, was led by former DYFI area president K Manoj and secretary S Saddam Hussain.
The parallel area conference in a party stronghold took place just days ahead of the CPM Palakkad district conference scheduled to begin in Chittoor on November 21.
"We were sidelined and targeted by the DYFI leadership for questioning irregularities within the organisation and supporting the so-called rebel group that opposed factionalism in the party. However, the participation at our conference proves we were right," said a DYFI activist who attended the event but chose to remain anonymous.
