TAMILAGA Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) chief and actor Vijay on Monday urged Governor RN Ravi to take necessary steps to ensure the safety of women. His appeal came in the aftermath of the sexual assault of the student on Anna University's campus on December 23.
In his petition, Vijay emphasised the need to strengthen law and order to safeguard the public.
"In our memorandum, we requested measures to enhance law and order in Tamil Nadu and ensure women's safety in all places," said TVK General Secretary N Anand in a press release on Monday. He accompanied Vijay during the meeting with governor.
