ASSURING his wholehearted support to the 600-odd families in Munambam who are fighting against the Waqf Board's claim on their land, Union Minister of State Suresh Gopi on Wednesday accused the Congress-led UDF and the ruling LDF of playing "vote-bank politics" by not taking up the issue.
Suresh Gopi assures support to Munambam families in Waqf row

"It is shameful that no people's representatives came to meet the families and offer help. However, that's not me. I stand with you and will do my best to get the Waqf amendment bill passed," the Thrissur MP told the agitators protesting under the aegis of the Munambam-Kadappuram Land Protection Committee.

"I never go anywhere uninvited. Since you asked me, I decided to come. I will bring your plight to the Centre's notice," the actor-politician said in his signature style.
