Bengaluru FC will aim to reduce their gap with defending champions and current league leaders Mohun Bagan Super Giant when they take on Chennaiyin FC in a crucial Indian Super League (ISL) clash at the Jawaharlal Nehru in Chennai on Saturday.
Currently at the second place on the ISL table with 24 points from 12 matches, former champions Bengaluru FC trail Mohun Bagan by five points going in Saturday's game against Chennaiyin FC. Mohun Bagan, however, have played a game more at 13.
The tussle for the top spot on the points table between Mohun Bagan and Bengaluru FC have been one of the key features of this season's edition of the ISL.
Bengaluru FC, who were at the top of the ISL ladder during the early stages of the ongoing season, have not been at their best during recent matches. They have managed to notch up just a couple of victories in their last five engagements, having lost one match and drawn two during that period.
