Desperate to leave the city, passengers are now thronging the bus terminus at Babughat, which has now become overcrowded.
Railway passengers are catching long-distance buses for several destinations such as Puri, Kalahandi, Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Chandikhol and other places.
Ajit Routh from Kolkata said he waited till this morning at Howrah station with hope that the railways will arrange alternate trains to reach Bhubaneswar but finally chose to catch a bus from Babughat bus terminus as there was no hope to get such alternative route service.
