NURSES could launch a crippling strike in the run-up to the General Election, after Rishi Sunak boasted that the Government had "reached resolution" with them over their pay dispute.
Royal College of Nursing General Secretary Pat Cullen today claims his remarks in a TV interview showed he had "lost touch with reality". She said: "If he thinks our pay dispute is done and dusted, he is mistaken.
"This fight is not resolved as the election year begins. I warn all parties that every option - including strike action is on the table.
Mr Sunak enraged RCN nurses when discussing the junior doctors' walkout with the BBC's Laura Kuenssberg last Sunday.
