BRYAN GUNN has explained his son Angus's major U-turn after the keeper ditched his English allegiances to join the Tartan Army.

Proud Scotsman Gunn Senior made six appearances for his homeland from 1990-94 while a long-serving, popular goalkeeper at Norwich.

His son Angus, 28, was born in Norfolk and grew up playing for the Three Lions from Under-16s to Under-21s after following his dad into shot-stopping.

But Gunn Junior opted to pledge his allegiance to Scotland last year and has since made nine appearances after impressing with the Canaries.

He now has four clean sheets since his international debut last March and may face hosts Germany in the opening fixture next Friday for Steve Clarke's side. Gunn Senior, 60, said: "Angus is reaping the benefits from his performances with Norwich.
