Secunderabad:Not just residential colonies, the proposed merger of SCB’s civilian pockets with neighbouring GHMC, is likely to see merger of centuries-old 16 local bazaars with the civic body. At least so it seems from the first report drafted by the Secunderabad Cantonment Board on the excision of civilian areas — keeping with the orders of the Ministry of Defence (MoD).
In August, the MoD had written to the Telangana chief secretary regarding the proposed excision and merger. Subsequently, the SCB was asked to work out the modalities and submit a detailed report to the state government.
