Navi Mumbai: Cidco is inquiring into a case of land irregularity at New Panvel sector 8, where the landmark Panacea Hospital is currently located. In 2003, Cidco had done an agreement with Dr. Nandkumar Gaikwad, by leasing him land at a concessional rate in order to open a homoeopathy hospital and research centre at this site for affordable medical treatment. However, instead of making the homoeopathy hospital, the doctor did another agreement with a builder to construct a building on this 1035 sq m plot. This building was then given on rent to start the allopathic hospital (Panacea) whose director is Dr Subhash Singh. Rs 3.43 crore was received by the duo for renting the building to the hospital.
In 2018, the issue was raised in the state assembly, after which Cidco found violations at the building site since no homoeopathic hospital was made there.
