Mumbai: To avoid a confrontation with Shiv Sena (UBT), CM Eknath Shinde, along with leaders of his faction, visited Shivaji Park’s Bal Thackeray memorial and paid homage to the late Sena founder on Wednesday night, a day before the Sena founder’s death anniversary on November 17. Uddhav Thackeray and his faction will pay homage to the late Sena founder on Thursday.
Minutes after CM Shinde and party members left, Uddhav faction workers washed the area with “gomutra” (cow urine) to “purify” the memorial. They also changed the garlands laid there by Shinde and his faction leaders and chanted slogans saying they were the real Shiv Sena.
