Mumbai: While the city celebrated the festival of lights, Veermata Jijabai Bhosale Udyan and Zoo, popularly known as Byculla zoo, also witnessed a Diwali dhamaka with nearly one lakh visitors and around Rs 35 lakh earnings in five days — from November 22 to 26.
Records showed that tickets were sold to 91,626 visitors, but as senior citizens and children below three years of age have free entry to the zoo, officials peg the number of visitors at nearly one lakh.
