Ahead of India's mega festivals, set to be the first "normal" festive season since the pandemic's outbreak, the good news is that Covid-19 cases continue to dip in the country with the weekly tally currently at its lowest in over three months.
India is likely to report around 33,000 fresh cases in the week ending Sunday, down nearly 14% from the previous week's count of nearly 38,500, as per TOI's Covid database. This is the lowest tally of cases since the May 30-June 5 week. Deaths from the virus continue to be low, with around 165 reported this week as compared to 167 last week.
