Ready to talk, we aren't dictators, says Rahul

He had branded Savarkar a BJP-RSS mascot at a rally in Washim two days earlier, inviting a backlash from the Eknath Shinde-led faction of Shiv Sena and threats from organisations like the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena, which demanded that the government stop Rahul’s ongoing yatra. Shiv Sena (Balasaheb) MP Rahul Shewale joined in the outcry over the former Congress chief ’s comments, seeking an immediate ban on the Maharashtra leg of his cross-country march.

Deputy CM Fadnavis accused Rahul of routinely spreading lies about Savarkar. He also criticised former minister Aaditya Thackeray for participating in the yatra, ignoring the fact that his grandfather and Shiv Sena founder Bal Thackeray had been an admirer of the controversial freedom fighter.
