New Delhi: This father has been waiting for justice for his daughter for 13 years. His hopes have been dashed with Delhi High Court acquitting three men who were sentenced to life by a trial court for murdering Nitika Lakra, a 21-year-old Delhi University student, in September 2009.
Broken but undeterred, Vijender, is now preparing to file an appeal in Supreme Court. “I will fight for her till I am alive. Even if I have to sell my land to hire a lawyer for an appeal in the top court, I will do so. I will do anything to ensure those who killed her are punished,” he told TOI with his voice choking. His lawyer, Sunil Gupta, is gearing up for the next stage of their quest for justice.
