Coimbatore/Kochi: The suspected bomber in Saturday’s autorickshaw explosion in Karnataka’s Mangaluru had spared no effort in hiding his identity and making sure his digital trail aroused little suspicion. H Mohammed Shariq (24) had a photo of the huge Adiyogi Shiva statue in Coimbatore as his WhatsApp display picture when he visited the Tamil Nadu city for three days in September.

Police were trying to find out if the photo on his phone was just an attempt to keep cops off his trail, or was it hiding a bigger sinister design. Karnataka police had confirmed that the blast was not accidental but a terrorist act.
