Reviews for Bronny’s summer debut have been mixed, but his dad’s opinion is what matters

Bronny James went 0-for-8 from three-point range in his Summer League debut last week.

As budding basketball careers go, maybe it’s a bad omen that the competitive high point of Bronny James’ trip to the NBA’s Las Vegas Summer League has so far come off the court.

That was when Bronny, the son of Lakers star LeBron James who was picked 55th overall by his father’s team in last months’ NBA draft, collected $10,000 (U.S.) for winning the league’s “Call of Duty” tournament. That’s not exactly the kind of evidence a basketball dad wants to cite while insisting his kid’s a gamer.

We’re only days into the younger James’ pro career, of course. But let’s just say the early reviews of Bronny, bereft of the PlayStation controller, have not been particularly kind.
