As it became public that my husband had died from such an aggressive form of cancer, I started to get messages from anti-vaxxers that my husband had died from something called "turbo cancer" that was, according to them, the result of the COVID vaccine.
It's especially ironic and cruel that anti-vaxxers have tried to pin Anoop's death on a vaccine because Anoop's older brother, Vikram, died from a blood clot (VITT) caused by the AstraZeneca vaccine. Nine days after Vikram got his first dose, he went to the ER with an intense, persistent headache. The doctors did blood work, and found several signs of VITT. Despite the red flags, the hospital sent him home. He died a week later. He was 41.
Thinking of all the different ways the health-care system failed Vikram and then Anoop is the kind of thing that can drive a person insane with rage. It's incredibly easy to let grief-laden anger consume every part of your being, especially when large online platforms like Facebook and YouTube have designed their systems so we stay engaged online.
