In a low-scoring affair, India humbled champions England in match number 29 of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 at the Ekana Stadium in Lucknow. Having been asked to bat, India were restricted to a paltry score of 229/9 in 50 overs. Rohit Sharma was the top scorer with an 87-run effort. Suryakumar Yadav and KL Rahul played crucial knocks worth 49 and 39, respectively. England bowled well as a unit. Chris Woakes and Adil Rashid were superb.
