Hatters should let Rob fix problems
The Football League Paper|November 17, 2024
These are worrying times for Luton and particularly Rob Edwards, whose head is on the block after a disastrous start to the Championship season.

Hatters should let Rob fix problems

Last week's 5-1 defeat to Middlesbrough was the Hatters' eighth defeat in 15 games and left them just one place above the relegation zone.

It wasn't the first time Luton have played badly this season, of course. But I was at the Riverside for that game and - if I'm being brutally honest - that was the first time I've seen those players not running for Rob.

We all miss chances. We all make mistakes at the back. We all know the goalkeeper could chuck one in. But those basics - running and working hard - should always be there.

Intensity

I'm not for a moment saying they've lost respect for Rob or that the players deliberately downed tools. But they were just not running or competing at the intensity I'd expect to see from a losing side - and that, for me, was a massive, massive concern.

What's going wrong? It's impossible to say and I'm not sure Luton know themselves. But I've been in scenarios just like this, and confidence is huge.
