WYCOMBE side-stepped a tricky second round fixture by defeating Wealdstone at Grosvenor Vale.
The League One leaders saw goals by Beryly Lubala and Richard Kone proving the difference on a day when their National League opponents had enough chances to cause an upset.
With the potential of a third round clash with a Premier League giant looming, Wycombe manager Matt Bloomfield believed his side dealt with a difficult tie well.
He said: "The fear at the start of the game was being the story of the day, live television and a big crowd are here.
"We wanted to make sure we conducted ourselves in the right manner, I spoke to the players about that this morning.
