SKIP JOSH KEEN TO CLIMB AGAIN

CAPTAIN Josh Falkingham has vowed never to endure a relegation battle with Harrogate Town again – and remains determined to deliver on his vision of League One football for the club.

SKIP JOSH KEEN TO CLIMB AGAIN

The long-serving midfielder has been the driving force in the Sulphurites’ engine room since 2017, inspiring back-toback promotions into the EFL and also scoring the winning goal in an FA Trophy final win at Wembley.

But he admits that this term has been the toughest of his six seasons at Wetherby Road.

Harrogate have hovered perilously above the relegation zone throughout. That’s in contrast to their first two League Two campaigns when they flirted with the higher reaches for spells and were never in danger of the drop.

A timely and impressive 3-0 home win over Walsall in midweek lifted Simon Weaver’s men six points clear of the bottom two ahead of yesterday’s trip to Northampton.

And Falkingham, who signed a new two-year deal in January to keep him contracted to the North Yorkshire team until just short of his 35th birthday, is fully committed to getting the club back on an upward trajectory.
