Matthews, who took over the reins from the axed Mark Molesley last week, looked on with pride as two goals from Brandon Goodship earned the Terras a 2-1 win at Huish Park.

“We have ridden our luck at times but luck comes from the effort that the boys have put in,” Matthews beamed.

“I thought the boys handled the occasion unbelievably. The subs had an impact and the subs that didn’t come on took it in the right way.”

The Terras weren’t the only team celebrating a Trophy shock as Will Montague’s 16th-minute effort saw Step 3 Chertsey Town knock out Dagenham & Redbridge on Wednesday night.
