While this lack of experience is not inherently a bad thing, the departure of several senior players as well as interim coach Jordan Turner-Hall in 2022 has led to a tumultuous past couple of seasons for the club, who have been a mainstay of the league for over a decade.

However, fly-half and skipper Jack Forrest insists that Raiders are now at the start of a slow rebuilding phase – guided by head coach Fred Pierrepont – and has every belief that his side possess the ability, mentality and support to return to winning ways in years to come.

He told The Rugby Paper: “For a club that have been in this league for the last 15 years, we’ve got a very inexperienced squad this year. A lot of lads have come straight from college or university, which can be tough.
