There have been an influx of WiFi 6 routers over the last couple of years, and the Netgear Nighthawk RAX50 was one of the first to launch in India. However, between then and now, many other brands have launched their WiFi 6 routers and even a couple of WiFi 6E routers have showed up in the Indian market.

The Nighthawk RAX50 is an AX5400 router, providing a total of 5.4 Gbps combined data transfer speeds via its dual bands. The antennas come detached and are identical. Once the antennas are attached and the device is powered on, it is easy to set up. You only need to download the Nighthawk app and either scan the QR code on the device or follow the onscreen instructions for manual set up. The router comes with Netgear Armor security service, which offers cyber threat protection. You can monitor your children’s browsing activity and ensure their online safety via the Netgear Smart Parental Controls feature. The system even gives security recommendations. The security features are subscription-based services.

The RAX50 supports six simultaneous streams of high-speed data, sufficient for multiple 4K content streaming, gaming nodes and live video calling devices. Coverage is as good as any similar dual-band device. We are not commenting on the coverage distance since it depends on physical barriers between the router and endpoint device. In relatable terms, we could get reliable 5Ghz connection to the TV in the living room from two walls across.
