A journey through the Trans Siberian Railroad is undoubtedly one of the world’s greatest and seamless travel adventures of our age. The Trans-Siberian Railway runs like a steel ribbon across the dramatic backdrops of Europe and Asia. It is one of-its-kind journey which runs through two most beautiful continents on the planet and allows travellers to discover different cities, cultures, people and landscape.
Gaze through the window to get a glimpse of the world’s largest lake, Baikal or gawk at Moscow’s Kremlin or marvel at Beijing’s Forbidden City. The journey of approximately 9289 kilometres across two continents, 8 time zones, 12 regions and 87 cities takes you through some of the most beautiful places on this planet offering a truly Russian experience.
Trans-Siberian Railway journey brims with tourists round the year as each month has its own attributes to offer the tourists. Lake Baikal, for example, is at its best in March when the vast stretch of water is covered with snow but the temperature is more bearable. Tourists can enjoy snowcapped mountains during winter months.
April is wet and swampy as the snow starts melting. Considering all the climatic conditions and their pros and cons, the best time to travel to Russia is during late spring or summer, i.e., months between June and September.
Know the story hidden
The construction of the Trans-Siberian Railway began in the 19th century under the reign of Tsar Alexander III. His son Tsarevich Nicholas supervised the process of construction when it all began. The need for such railway network was felt due to poor transportation system in Siberia.
