When the fifth series of The Crown dropped on Netflix in November 2022, filming had already started on the final instalment of the fictionalised dramatisation of real-life royal intrigue and political tension.
Filming is due to finish in early summer, so we won't have to wait long to see what happens next this last hurrah is expected to arrive on the streaming service at the end of the year. Here's everything that we know so far...
DEATH OF A PRINCESS
When Princess Diana and her boyfriend Dodi Fayed died in a car crash in Paris in 1997, it sent shockwaves around the world and changed the course of history.
So as the final series picks up the action in the early summer months of that year, Diana's death is sure to be the biggest story of the season.
The fifth series ended in 1997 with Diana preparing for a holiday in the south of France on the yacht of Harrods boss Mohamed Al Fayed (Salim Daw). Meanwhile, the Egyptian businessman's son Dodi (Khalid Abdalla) was involved with US model Kelly Fisher (Erin Richards).
