Is it ever OK TO DATE YOUR SISTER'S EX?

After Coleen Nolan revealed it happened to her, we look at what some consider the ultimate betrayal
Is it ever OK TO DATE YOUR SISTER'S EX?

There’s nothing like sisterly love. Always there for you in your hour of need, whether that’s a shoulder to cry on or a little black dress on loan for a last-minute event. Blood is thicker than water, as the old adage goes, but what happens when a sister crosses a line? Can the relationship recover?

Singer and TV star Coleen Nolan revealed that years ago one of her sisters began dating her ex after they’d split. The mum of three explained she had lived with her boyfriend for two years before her sister went on to live with him for a further two. Despite recently admitting that it felt ‘weird’, she said, ‘My attitude was it’s not worth losing my sister over and also, if she wants to be second best that’s up to her! I only say that because that’s why I could never do that. It’s just a completely out-of-bounds thing.’

Here we talk to a woman who understands Coleen’s pain and reveals the impact a similar experience had on her.

‘I NO LONGER FELT LIKE I COULD TRUST HER’

Alice*, 52, stills feels hurt by her sister Jill’s relationship. I guess the alarm bells should have started ringing when my boyfriend and I were discussing fantasies and he mentioned that he would love to have a threesome. A typical male fantasy, I didn’t think too much of it. But then he added he would love the third person to be my older sister Jill*!

IS THERE ANYTHING MORE NOSTALGIC THAN CHRISTMASES PAST?

Do you remember the anticipation before the big day, pondering endlessly about what should go on your Christmas list? I would lovingly write two or three things down, pop it into an envelope and leave it by the fireplace to be wafted up the chimney like something out of Mary Poppins.
