He’s the chat show king and friend to the stars who’s added a touch of glamour to Friday night TV since 2007. Now, in a new interview Graham Norton tells us what A-listers are really like and why he has no plans to retire.
How excited are you that your show is back?
I get a big kick out of coming back for the show every year. Now that I finish the series in February instead of going on until April or May, I get a long break so the fatigue doesn’t settle in. That means that by the time it comes back I’m geared up and ready for it. That first show is always a pinch-me moment.
Are you friends with any of the celebs who come on your show?
Not really. I mean, I’ve had Miriam Margolyes come to my house and I went to Kylie Minogue’s 50th birthday party, but that was a few years ago and I don’t have her phone number. But because I’ve been doing the show for so long, seeing the stars every couple of years is kind of like bumping into old friends. They are literally telling me what they’ve been up to.
Do any of the Hollywood stars stay after the show to have a drink in the green room?
